Elegant Thanksgiving Table Setting
How to create an elegant Thanksgiving table setting using Wood, White and Gold!
Follow along to create a beautiful table setting for your Thanksgiving dinner table setting. A table setting using charger plates made of wood provides natural elements to balance against the white and gold table settings. You’ll see that this is an extremely simple Thanksgiving dinner table setting
Start With The Centerpiece
Your Thanksgiving tablescape starts with the centerpiece! For this elegant Thanksgiving table setting, I wanted something that wouldn’t interfere with conversations so it needed to have a low profile. I created a centerpiece using a dough bowl, some eucalyptus branches, and a few glitter pumpkins in white and gold. You can learn to make these glitter pumpkins in this post, all you need is mini pumpkins, clear glue, and extra fine glitter.
I added a mercury glass candlestick holder and a flameless pillar candle from Pottery Barn on each end.

Tablecloth
For the tablecloth I used a lacy tablecloth with leaves on it. This is usually used as an overlay over a rust-colored tablecloth, but I didn’t like that look so I decided to try it without the underlayment. I just love it, don’t you?
Thanksgiving Place Settings
A little sparkle and a little wood are always fun to add to any Thanksgiving tablescape. I love bringing out my wood chargers. A table setting using charger plates made of wood provides natural elements to the white and gold table settings to create elegant dinner table settings.
I added my gold rimmed china. I’ve had these pretty salad plates with Thanksgiving words in gold from Pottery Barn for many years now and I just love them! I will link plate options below.
The napkins have great gold textured stiches along the edges that just add a touch of whimsical elegance. I added the hammered gold napkin rings that I got from Pottery Barn several years ago. By laying them across the top of the plates, they don’t obscure the words on the salad plates.
The Waterford crystal water glasses were inherited from my husband’s mother. They add something special to our family Thanksgiving table. I love the cracked gold wine glasses that I got from Pier 1 several years ago. They really add to the elegant atmosphere.

White and gold always looks so fresh and clean together – as a table setting idea this is both beautiful and perfect for Thanksgiving… and Christmas too! 🙂 Sim x #TrafficJamWeekend
Thanks Sim. I agree that it could easily work for Christmas also, or just about any time of year as white and gold is just a classic look. Just need to change out the centerpiece and salad plates and you’re set for whatever event you want to use it for.
