About the Blog

Hello, and welcome to A Life of Balance. I created this blog to share planning, organization and simplification ideas with people who are trying to find balance in their lives, no matter what the challenges. I want to help you get the “have to do” items done so that you can move on to the “want to do” items. I hope you find the information in this blog helpful and are able to use it to create your own A Life of Balance. Since that time, I’ve expanded the blog to cover a variety of hobbies plus just about anything that has to do with home, life or balance.

About Janet

I’m Janet and I have over 30 years of experience being a wife, mother, employee, supervisor, and entrepreneur. In that time, I’ve learned a lot of things to help life run more efficiently, and I’m excited to share them with you. I’m also excited to share information on enjoying life through a variety of hobbies.

About my Family

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Bill, for over 32 years, and am genuinely excited about our future. Bill is a technical trainer and my DIY assistans.

We have two adult children as well as an “adopted” German daughter. We also have a wonderful puppy, Molly, who is a rescue dog that is just under a year old.

Our son, Bill,  has a pup named Boba Fett (named after a character in Star Wars). Boba is 5 years old and is also a rescue.

We currently live in central Missouri, where the back deck overlooking our wooded ravine is our favorite spot.

Our daughter, Katie, lives in Florida with her husband, Casen, and has a pup named Aion. Aion is a 3 year old German Shepherd.

Our “adopted” daughter was a foreign exchange student that stayed with us in 2000. Maggie and Marco live in Berlin so we only get to see them every 2-3 years but we have video calls regularly. They have a 6 month old son named Emilian.

We look forward to getting to know each of you.

From me and my happy family to you and yours, I hope you enjoy creating A Life of Balance for many years to come.
